BRAIN AGE vs. BRAIN POWER

Here's how this evaluation of your brain power will work. You will be asked to perform our test 3 times in succession. Each performance (which we call a "run") will take you approximately 2 minutes. The reason we want 3 runs is to make certain that you understand and are comfortable with the required keystrokes. The first 2 runs are for practice. The third run is the one that counts.

You will not receive a score for your two practice runs. You will however receive a score for your test (third) run. This score will reflect your accuracy, speed of response, and your concentration. At the completion of your third run, you will not only see your score, but you will also see:

o  your Absolute Brain Power, which is your percentile ranking among all members on their third run
o  your Relative Brain Power, which is your percentile ranking among all members of your age on their third run
o  the average score on the 3rd run for all members in our database
o  the average score on the 3rd run for all members of your age in our database
o  the highest score ever achieved by one of our members on the third run
o  the highest score ever achieved by one of our members of your age on the third run
o  the highest score ever achieved by one of our members on any run
o  the highest score ever achieved by one of our members of your age on any run

BRAIN POWER TEST
This executive function exercise, described in the instructions below, will determine your ability based on speed, accuracy, and concentration level.
NATURE OF TEST
This exercise has been designed to improve the component of cognition that controls and manages higher-order cognitive processes.

Enhanced executive function is absolutely vital to allowing us to navigate the challenges that life presents on a daily basis. Executive function provides the cognitive coordination that enables activities such as planning, problem-solving, error correction and troubleshooting, motivation, regulation of emotion, and abstract thinking.

INSTRUCTIONS:
A colored figure (square, circle, star, triangle, etc.) will be presented on the first line of a two-line display. Next to this figure will be the word SHAPE or the word COLOR. On the second line of the display will be another colored figure. If the word on the first line is COLOR, then you must determine if the color of the figure on the second line matches the color of the figure on the first line. If the word on the first line is SHAPE, then you must determine if the shape of the figure on the second line matches the shape of the figure on the first line. If there is a match, press the RIGHT ARROW key on your keyboard. If there is not a match, press the LEFT ARROW key on your keyboard.

You must respond correctly 20 times to complete the exercise.
